How Do You Distract Yourself When You Get the Craves?

There is nothing worse than getting the craves.

Your brain goes into a fog and you can not think clearly.

Your muscles start twitching and you feel a deep yearning, burning deep inside their tissues.

Your mouth goes dry.

You do not feel like yourself.

How do you bypass this hell to continue on with your quit?

Your brain is focused on just one thing. How do you change this?

If you ever held a baby that was crying, you know that if it hears a sound or detects any kind of movement when it is crying, it will stop and look around.

That is what you need to do with your brain.

You need to distract yourself.

How do you do that?

Engage your mind in something that is easy to focus on that you love.

A game.

Food.

Excercise.

Sex.

Sleep.

Meditation.

Reading a book.

Anything healthy that you can do to stop your mind from thinking about what you do not want to think about.

You have got to change the focus of your mind.

If you do not change your focus, you are not in control.

Change your focus. Maintain your recovery.
