Need another reason to recovery?

January 19, 2017Articles, BlogNo CommentsQuit the habit

Whether you are a Republican or Democrat, one of the great provisions of Obama Care or ACA (Affordable Care Act) was that it provided assistance for those of us dealing with substance abuse. This means if you were covered by such a plan, you could go to a clinic, get help, and it would be covered by your medical coverage.

With the switchover from the Obama to the Trump administration, we are seeing the possibility that ACA will be repealed. This puts support for substance abuse at risk as well.

What that means is that your health care may not cover substance abuse treatment so any treatment may be out-of-pocket.

If you are under 26 and covered by the healthcare plan of your parents, it means that their plan may not provide treatment support for addiction.

Further, if you are over 18 and under 26, there is the possibility that you may no longer be covered by your parent’s insurance.

This may mean you have to go it alone.

So it is imperative that you seek treatment now while you may have coverage. Do not risk losing this important support.

When will we lose coverage?

This is not known. It depends on how quickly the Trump administration seeks to repeal ACA and then it depends on what type of solution.

As if you do not have enough reasons to recovery, you now have one more reason to recovery today.
